Moreover, a letter from the Ministry of Interior to the chairman PTA said that the Punjab Home Department requested this action.

However, the letter strictly directed the authority to comply with orders at once. Moreover, they should suspend internet service in Samanabad, Sherakot, Nawankot, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Sabzazar, and Iqbal Town.

The internet services, including data services WiFi, and fixed-line DSL, will suspend. They will not reopen until further request, the letter said.

Earlier, a large number of Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) supporters gathered. They have a sit-in at Yateem Khana Chowk of Lahore on Tuesday night. They are protesting to protest the ‘illegal’ arrest of their leader Saad Hussain Rizvi.

Reports say that internet blockade is part of the Punjab government’s strategy to suppress the protest against the banned outfits.
