PTA blocks TikTok in Pakistan yet again. It’s the fifth time PTA blocks TikTok in Pakistan under the Cybercrime Act, 2016. PTA blocked the app along with its official website. Before, TikTok assured PTA that they will regulate the local content rules. But, they have failed to do so for the fifth time. Read more to know about the development of the TikTok ban in Pakistan.

On July 21, 2021, PTA broke the news on Twitter about the TikTok ban which states:

This tweet clearly states that PTA has blocked access to the TikTok app and website in Pakistan. Moreover, we assume this TikTok ban will last longer. It is because PTA failed to keep up with the local content rules of Pakistan for the fifth time. However, they assured that they will keep up with the local rules and will try their best to regulate them.

History Between TikTok & PTA

First, PTA blocks TikTok from imposing the Cybercrime act, 2016. PTA blocked it due to immoral and obscene content that appears on TikTok. Surprisingly, TikTok has been banned 4 times due to immoral and obscene content that this video-sharing app showed without restrictions. However, TikTok managed to assure PTA at all times that they will regulate the local content rules. Apparently, they have failed to do so for the 5th time. Now, we will see if TikTok will manage to assure PTA this time or not.
