PDMA warns of heavy rain and floods in Punjab. PDMA refers to Provincial Disaster Management Authority. So, PDMA Punjab has alerted relevant authorities to stay on high alert. Also, they tell them to take necessary precautions during this week’s monsoon spell in Punjab province.

In an official statement, PDMA quoted Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and said that rain of moderate to heavy intensity and widespread thunderstorms is expected over the catchments of all the major rivers along with North, Northeast Punjab, and DG Khan divisions from 27 to 30 July.
Currently, high floods await in Jhelum River at Chenab River and upstream in Mangla at Khanki, Marala, and Qadirabad from 28 to 30 July. Also, CM Usman Buzdar visits PDMA Punjab head office. And, the purpose of this visit was to inspect the monsoon season and possible flood situations.
Furthermore, PDMA Punjab officials briefed CM Usman Buzdar about the situation. Specifically, the situation of rivers, the weather forecasting system, arrangements for dealing with the flood-related situation.

CM Usman Buzdar admired the arrangements of PDMA for the situation of the flood. And, he issued orders to remain intact and continuously monitor the inflow and outflow of waters in rivers.
