There are a lot of laptops in the market with different features. But, you have to choose the best laptop that suits you. For this purpose, you have to think about which features you need the most in the laptop before you buy it. You have to prioritize the features that you need most over the features you need the least. This method will also help to save you some bucks. Below is the list of 10 things you should consider while buying a laptop:

1. RAM

RAM might be the reason you decided to upgrade to a new laptop. I think RAM will be the priority for most of you as it boosts your laptop speed. You can work faster and more efficiently. If your laptop contains higher RAM, you can do multitasking easily. If you are a multi-tasker, gamer, graphic designer, RAM eater, or any other kind of user, then RAM comes in handy. Now, if you are upgrading because of RAM, then your previous laptop contained lower RAM and you rely on RAM to do your work faster. I would recommend you to go with a minimum of 8GB RAM or 16GB. You can also buy a laptop with 32GB RAM but that would be a bit costly.

2. Decide Before You Buy

You need to decide the laptop you want to buy or atleast decide the criteria of specificaions. It will help a lot when you go out for buying or order a laptop. You already have the criteria for buying your ideal laptop and you don’t have to waste your time deciding laptop. Now, you will focus on searching where you can but that laptop chaper than others and save some money. This tip will help you save your money and time. It’s a win-win situation for you.

3. Battery Life

A laptop with higher battery life is usually considered than a laptop with less battery life. If you are a person who goes out often and forgot to take the charger with you or you don’t want to take the charger. Then. you probably like a laptop with a higher battery span which can work longer for you. Nowadays, there are many laptops in the market that offers you a higher battery span with efficient working. I recommend you should consider a laptop with a minimum of 6 to 7 hours of battery life without charging and 8 hours would be an ideal deal. Don’t take a laptop less than 6 hours of battery life as you want to upgrade.

4. Your Budget

As we all know, everyone has a limited budget, and they can’t spend more than that. So, decide the specification of your laptop according to your budget. For example, you want to buy an ASUS gaming laptop, and you know you don’t have the budget. It’s just a waste of time, you can dream it daily. You should think realistically of the laptop which you can buy within your budget.

5. Hard Drive Or SSD

It’s a major decision you have to take while buying a laptop. They are both good for a specific type of people. If you are a person that requires a larger space for keeping all of his stuff, then you should buy a hard drive. It gives you more space but not as much speed as SSD can give. `Similarly, if you want a faster workflow rather than a large amount of space, then SSD is for you. SSD gives a faster speed but contains less space compared to hard drives. Choose accordingly, whether you want a greater space or faster speed.

6. CPU

Can you possibly forget a CPU in a laptop? The answer is no, you can’t. So, let’s talk about the CPU. CPU is as simple it can get. We will not compare it as you already know that the latest version would be more efficient than the previous ones. But, I can tell you one thing, as you really want to upgrade. While buying your new laptop, consider a minimum of core i5 or core i7 and core i9 would be the best for you. I recommend going with Intel chips, and the generation can vary depending on your choice.

7. Graphics Card

A graphic card is a necessity if you want to get the most out of the games, or you work on software programs that requires a graphic card for better performance, i.e. Adobe software. There are two companies of graphics cards that are leading the market, which is NVIDIA and AMD. You should choose one of them as they are simply the best. There are different versions which are newer and some are older. So, choose within your budget limit and which is best available within the limit.

8. Mac Or Windows (Some Others)

It’s a controversial question whether you go with Mac or Windows. Some people will tell you to go with Mac and some will tell you to choose Windows. We will only put forward the facts, and you can then decide accordingly. If you want a simple yet eloquent OS, then buy a Mac, but you want an OS with more functionalities, then go for Windows. But, there are other OS’s i.e. Chrome OS that does the same work as others. You can also consider them as an option.

9. Display Size

Display size also plays a role in deciding on a laptop. I would keep it short and simple. Display size gives you a better resolution. You should buy a laptop with a minimum of 1920 by 1080 which is considered as high resolution. Anything below that won’t be count as a high-resolution display.

10. 2 in 1

There are many laptops that give you a feature of 2 in 1. It means they give you a mode in which you can convert your laptop into a tablet and work the same, and can they support finger touch. These kinds of laptops might be efficient for graphic designers and some others.
