1: Google Keyword Planner (Google official free tool) :

Google Keyword Planner some times known as google adwords Keyword Suggestion tool is a free tool which will help us to find details about a keyword i.e keyword monthly search volume, Average CPC (cost per click), Advertising competition and month wise search graph. All these thing are the part of keyword research and help us a lot in selecting a good keyword. It is very easy to use. After sign in it will ask you what would you like to do? Click on first one and enter the keyword which you want to do research. there are many other option to customize your research i.e search in specific country, search KW for specific Search volume as well as CPC. For me i want to target United States with a keyword “love Quotes“. Remember it is not exact keyword which i want to rank. It is a short term KW and definitely it has so much competition. Now click on Get ideas, you will see the list of related Keyword ideas for that. For me it show me list like bellow.

As i told the more Monthly Search Volume a keyword have means the more competition so try to go inner and inner for low competitions well as long tail keyword.

2: Google instant Search :

Surprise!! Yeah, it is a great way to find long tail keyword which has a decent google organic searches as well as low competition. Let’s see how it works :) .

First open google and search for your desire keyword. In my case i will again work on ” Love Quotes” . and see the results which google gives you. Stop! Stop! Stop! here is the secret factor to find a competition of a keyword :) . For checking competition just put your Keyword in Double Quotes and see the results. you will see a big conflict in both cases. this is the exact competition (SEO Competition). No one will told you this secret to find exact Competition. Now come back to the search results again as we are here to find the best KW. Drag down the page you will see the label names as Searches Related to “your Keyword”.

3: Google Trends :

Google Trends is also used for Keyword research. We use it to check latest or hot trend. We also use it to check Keyword Trend in specific Country as well as Word Wide. You can also use it to see what is hot and most trending searches in any country. it don’t just tell us about trend of any keyword, it also tells from which country or State most searches come :) . It shows us a graph of percentage from 0 to 100. the more percentage means the more searches it has :) . As like google instant searches it also gives more KW ideas in terms or related searches. 4: Some Third Party Tools (paid tools) :

Above 3 methods are free and proudly used by me :) . Third party methods of find long tail Keywords are paid. They provide more inner research facilities. These tools use some 3rd party gateways to provide exact competitions well as search volume. “Long Tail Pro, Moz Keyword Research,  Word Tracker, SEMrush and Keyword Spy”. All of these are paid and provide more facility to check exact competitions. It is good and best practice to use above 3 method for keyword research.
