PCB’s new chairman, Ramiz Raja, announced Pakistan’s new coaches for T20 WC. Moreover, he confirmed that former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden will be the new coach for the Pakistan Cricket team. Former South Africa bowler Vernon Philander is taking the role of the new bowling coach. Earlier, bowling coach Waqar Younis and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq resigned from their role.

It is not clear to which role these former cricketers would assign now. But, Ramiz confirmed that there will be a head coach appointed as well. However, he didn’t reveal the head coach’s identity. Raja, in the press conference, talked about how the addition of these two coaches, Hayden in particular, would benefit Pakistan.
Raja said Hayden would spread aggression and positivity to the young and talented Pakistani side. He added, Hayden is a world-class batsman and has won the WC. On the other hand, he said, the adding of Vernon Philander will be positive for the national team.
Raja hopes that these two coaches will bring positivity and a winning mentality to the team. He assured that this side is capable of winning T20 WC. All they need is an extra 10% effort.

During the press conference, Raja revealed that Bank Alfalah is paying wages to these two coaches. He applauded this kind gesture of Bank Alfalah. He added that this was possible due to a strategic partnership with Bank Alfalah and hoped that further such strategic partnerships will enhance the cricketing infrastructure in the country.
