Ultimate Guide of How to Migrate a site from one server or hosting to other Hosting without Losing data as well as ranking :
What you all need to have “Complete backup of your files“. You can easily download it via FTP or can download it directly from Hosting Cpanel from file manager. I recommend you to download files in two types >> Download as it is >> Download the ZIP file after compressing all files. Second most important thing is your database backup. You can downland database of a website from the PHP-MY-ADMIN under MySQL database management tab.
- Login into your new hosting cPanel >> Add the domain into the hosting.
in case of same hosting you don’t need to change name servers. If hosting is different from previous then you must need to change the Name server of the domain according to new one from domain panel. Which will may takes 24 to 48 hours to change. In my case it will show like this :) - After Successfully adding Domain and set its name servers, you need to upload all files to your new server. you can do this from cPanel as well as via FTP.
Remember : If you want to use FTP Service then you must neet to create ftp client and assign the site root directory to it. It is very easy you can easily do this from Hosting cPanel under FTP Section. Bellow is the example to create FTP using Hosting cPanel. - Create a database for your site which has same attributes like previous (Attributes means database name, username, Password).
note : ServerHostname is always different. Don’t forget to change it from config .php. In case of WordPress it look like as bellow image :) - Although it was most important step for moving site but the game is not yet over :P . you need to import the database which you Export from the previous hosting. You can do this simply by click clinking of PHP My Admin button in the desire database window. After importing successfully you can know check your site while it is running good or not.

That’s all you need to do. But in some cases especially while you are using other CMS instead of WordPress, You need to make some changes into your hosting php. ini file. this file has some rules to access data, manipulate as well as some other off side functions. I never suggest anyone to change it at his own ends. Because if you make little wrong info into this file then your all hosting as well as site may disturb badly. If you want to make some changes into that file feel free to contact the hosting support team.
