Windows 7 makes it possible to change the welcome screen that appears when you start your computer without any third-party software, but this setting is well hidden. You can set any image you like as your background.

1. First open the registry editor by typing “regedit” in run prompt.
2. Now go for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Microsoft >> Windows >> Current Version >> Authentication >> Logon UI >> Background.

   If you don’t see it, right-click in the right pane, point to the New sub menu and create a new DWORD value with this name.
4. Keep in mind while changing theme you need to do all the above steps again.
5. You can change group setting in order to persist it when ever you change the theme. for this purpose you have access to the Group Policy Editor, by typing “gpedit.msc” from the Start menu.
