Pakistan Premier Football League date announced by PFF

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) officially announced the starting date for Pakistan Premier Football League. So, the first matches of PPL will take place on 14th August (Independence Day). Moreover, the venue decided for opening matches is Multan.

So, according to the Secretary-General of Pakistan Football Federation, Mr. Muhammad Naveed Akram,
President of Pakistan Football Federation Engineer Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah approved the holding
of Pakistan Premier Football League

Twelve teams from across Pakistan will compete with each other in PPL. Furthermore, these teams are:

  • Defending Champions Khan Research Laboratories (KRL)
  • Karachi United
  • Pakistan Army
  • Sui Southern Gas Company
  • Pakistan Air Force
  • PCCA
  • Muslim Club Chaman
  • Pakistan Navy
  • Pakistan WAPDA
  • Sui Northern Gas Pipelines
  • Baloch Club Quetta
  • Huma Club Islamabad

Moreover, two matches are scheduled for 14th August. Hence, Sui Southern Gas Company will face Pakistan WAPDA. Similarly, Pakistan Army will face Pakistan Air Force in the second match-up.

Surprisingly, 132 matches are scheduled instead of the 182 matches which were played in the previous season. Previously, a meeting took place at PFF headquarters on Wednesday, where the league’s structure, rules, and regulations announced.

Pakistan Premier Football League Rules & Regulations

According to the format, all the teams will face each other twice in the season. Teams will be awarded three points for a win and one point for a draw, and the team at the top of the league at the end of the season will be crowned as champions, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the second-tier of Pakistan Football League.
