Google Panda 4.2 is Rolling Out Slowly after 10 months

By | July 23, 2015

Google Just confirmed that “Google Panda 4.2 is rolling out” – Panda refresh began this weekend and will take months to fully rolled out

It is about 10 months that Google didn’t refresh any panda update. But from last 5 days i am getting too much queries regarding panda refresh from my clients. and today Google confirmed that “Google Panda 4.2 is rolling out” they added that it is pushed out this weekend. Many of you may not have noticed because this roll out is happening very slowly. Google says the update can take months to fully roll out because it will slowly impact your site. The Panda algorithm is still a site-wide algorithm, but some of your web pages might not see a change immediately. Don’t miss to read my 3 ways to determine Google Algorithm Updates.

Google Panda is a change to Google’s search results ranking algorithm that was first released in February 2011. The change aimed to lower the rank of “low-quality sites” or “thin sites”, and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results (Wikipedia).

Loser and Winner of Google Panda 4.2 :

Losers :

Google said this impacted about 2-3% of English language queries. Panda hit the sites having thin, Duplicate, and Low quality content. If your site’s contents has these flaws then you are a big victim and son you will see a huge drop in your ranking as well as traffic.

This is not how many of the past Panda updates rolled out, where typically you’d see a significant increase or decline in your Google traffic more quickly. It is very slow and you will see the changes or effects very slow.

Winners :

The roll out means anyone who was penalized by Panda in the last update has a chance to emerge if they made the right changes. So if you were hit by Panda, you unfortunately won’t notice the full impact immediately but you should see changes in your organic rankings gradually over time.

Definitely a site having high quality, deep level and awesome content then Panda will give it a boast in ranking as well as in traffic.

My Thoughts :

This is a big red flag. Panda not being a near overnight rollout is a real warning sign that tells me the system has become so complex at this point as to be near breaking completely. And could be the writing on the wall for Google to fade away slowly if they don’t find a way to fix the bolted-on legacy mess. It seems like Either Matt Cutts had a tool that literally made everything overnight, and no one knows how to use it, or Matt just literally managed everything so well that it seemed like it was overnight, and it will take ages for the new regime at Google to catch up.
